Getting and installing Python

Python is a programming language that enables to develop software applications quickly and integrate them into systems more efficiently. Python is easy to learn and use with productivity and lower maintenance costs. Python is free to use and open source. Python is available for Windows, Linux/Unix, Mac OS X, and can ported to the Java and .NET virtual machines.

Download Python from PSF version specific to your operating system and processor(32-bit or 64-bit).


There are two versions of Python are available, Python 2 and Python 3. You can choose any of the version, you can further read http://wiki.python.org/moin/Python2orPython3 for details.

Operating system specific instructions

Mac: 
Use Homebrew to install and manage Python's version specific information.

Linux:
Python is included with various distributions of Linux by default. You can further update the version installed.

Windows: 
You can download and install Python from PSF.


Double click on downloaded .exe file "python-3.8.1". Installation will start, Make sure to add Python to your system path during the installation process.




After installation search Python in Search bar,


Click Python, and you will see


Print "Hello World"
